What kind of sneakers should I buy for fitness?

I’ve been looking at shoe stores and they have sneakers broken down into many categories.

At this time, I can only afford to buy ONE pair of shoes…but am willing to invest in a good pair.

I plan to use them for working out (running/walking on treadmill, elliptical, etc), beginner’s tennis (4 days a week), and regular walking outdoors.

Should I buy tennis shoes, running shoes, walking shoes or something else?

Thanks!

Running/Walking shoes, but trust me. You want to buy a good pair. I began working out again after my daughter was born and went through 4 pairs before I finally just decided to spend $80 on some good shoes. Go to a sporting goods store and talk to a sales rep. They are trained to help you out. Good luck!

Imagine if your neighbors children were living with you for the next six months? Can you? You were just selected to participate in the hottest show on TV. You submitted your family to a do or die TV reality series that shows people how to cope with obesity. The rules are pretty simple!

  1. Be a family with all members being obese. Use BMI medical standards to qualify.
  2. Find a family in your neighborhood with no members that are obese. Same standards apply.
  3. Agree to switch kids for a predetermined six months period.
  4. The obese children will learn and follow the non-obese family routine with supervised medical attention. Children must agree to follow all the set rules or will be eliminated.
  5. The children from the family that is not obese must try to teach the obese family to follow his families preset lifestyle. Failure to follow rules will mean elimination.
  6. 10 sets of families will be selected. Each week one family will be eliminated. Voting done by TV viewers and judges combined scores. All judges qualified and respected obesity experts.
  7. Grand prize of 1 million dollars to be evenly divided among the last two families standing at the end of the show. One of the obese family with the most votes and one non-obese family with the most votes will win. Last votes are by viewers only. Winning families will get full scholarships for all their children.
  8. All rules and regulations were selected and determined by experts in the medical, nutritional and health fields. Fitness experts will work with each family to follow and motivate all family members.
  9. To apply, just e-mail the sponsors with the reason your family should be selected. Families must apply together to qualify. One obese family and one non-obese family together per application will be accepted. Families must live in the same city to qualify. Children must be able to continue going to their respective schools.
  10. Judges selection will be final and contestants must meet all requirements to be selected.

OK. This is fictional. What do you think? Lets get into real homes with real families and learn what each is doing to maintain their healthy, or not so healthy lifestyles. This would create eye opening conversation around the water cooler?
